Today there is a debate in Parliament about the absolutely appalling move by the Tories in Westminster to cut Universal Credit by £20 a week. I am horrified by this Tory money-saving exercise that will see more than 2.5 million working families lose more than £1000 a year.

This additional money was put in place to support our most vulnerable through the tough times throughout coronavirus.

And the Chancellor simply must recognise that the impacts of the pandemic are still being felt by so many people across the UK.

For the avoidance of any doubt, this evening I will of course be voting to #CancelTheCut.

I cannot and will not stand by in silence while the Tories continue to leave working people worse off.
