I sat in Prime Minister’s Questions today and like many of you watching at home, was horrified to hear Boris Johnson admit to attending a party at Downing Street in May 2020.

His apology was too little too late, and frankly it is ridiculous for him to pretend that he had no idea he was at a party, particularly after days of hiding behind the idea of an internal investigation.

Since yesterday I have received many emails from constituents. Some of them are absolutely heart breaking, sharing stories of not being able to see their loved ones dying in hospital, or of grieving alone at empty funerals.

People have made enormous sacrifices over the past few years, suffering loneliness, hurt and for far too many, unimaginable grief.

They deserve a Prime Minister who leads by example, not the shameless and lying approach that Boris Johnson repeatedly takes.
Leadership comes from the top, and I sincerely believe Boris Johnson should consider his position – as should his Tory Party colleagues.

I will be responding to everyone who has written to me personally, but I know this is an issue that people across Pontypridd and Taff Ely care deeply about and I wanted to share my thoughts.
